Boston Bruins Weekly Round Up

Boston Bruins Weekly Round Up
11/2- 11/9

11/4
Florida Panthers vs. Boston Bruins
W 2-1 OT
A big story from this game was that it was Shawn Thornton's return to Boston. A sad sad day for many Bruins fans. Thorty was a beloved guy in the locker room and a fan favorite. I don't think it was any surprise that he was leaving Boston but that doesn't make it any less sad. Another major storyline from this tilt is that the Panthers don't suck anymore. Yup, you read that right. The Bruins certainly weren't at their best but damn the Panthers did not look bad in this game. In the past, when you would see the Panthers on the schedule, I think most people would see that as a locked win, not this year. Florida gave the B's a ran for their money. Once again the B's were lead by Marchand who had an apple and a gino, the gino being the OT game winner. The Smith, Bergeron, Marchand line has been on fire the last 3 games with 10 points and they continued it in this one. Somehow Luongo has been on fire lately so it hasn't been easy to sneak goals by him and that was the case again. Luckily the B's edged out the W.

11/6
Edmonton Oilers vs. Boston Bruins
W 5-2
The B's absolutely dominated in this one. A great all around game. With 11 minutes left in the 3rd the game was tied at 2-2 then the floodgates opened. Sodberg and Hamilton each netted power play goals  a minute apart from each other. While the Oilers did give the B's a fight, Boston was just too fast and too strong for Edmonton. If the Oilers didn't take those two bad penalties with not a whole lot of time left in the 3rd it might have been a different game.
