Boston Bruins Weekly Round Up

Weekly Recap
Dec 1st-7th

12/1
Boston Bruins at Anaheim Ducks
L 3-2
I'm going to start this off by saying that this was probably the worst west coast trip the Bruins have had in recent memory. They went 1-4 on the trip when they should have won 3 or 4 games. The whole thing was such a disaster and staying up late for the west coast games just to see the Bruins lose made the whole thing worse. Marchand took the lead early for the B's with a nice goal in the second period. It was quite the defensive battle up till then. This game could have easily gone the other way but the B's did not capitalize on two power play opportunities. Paille and Bergeron were both blanked on short handed attempts and Joe Morrow was blanked on a breakaway. Simon Gagne got a goal with 10mins left in the game but the Bruins cold not rally to come back. I feel like I say this all the time lately but the puck just wasn't bouncing the Bruins way.

12/2
Boston Bruins at Los Angeles Kings
L 2-0
Jonathan Quick absolutely stood on his head to get the Kings the 2 points out of this one. He made an INCREDIBLE save on Torey Krug to keep the Bruins scoreless. The game was 1-0 Kings till 50 seconds left when they scored an open net goal. The Kings were simply the better team in this one.

12/4
Boston Bruins at San Jose Sharks
L 7-4
This was quite the game as you can see from the score. A total of 11 goals. If you took the over in this one then you were quite pleased. The Bruins started the game off with 2 quick goals 3 minutes into the game. The Sharks bounced back from being down 2 and routed the B's. Reilly Smith finally put the biscuit in the oven to break an 11 game goalless streak. As soon as the Bruins took the two goal lead they kind of went back on their heals and stopped playing to win and more so not to lose. They were pretty much awful in their defensive zone.

12/6
Boston Bruins at Arizona Coyotes
W 5-2
I'm happy to report that the Bruins didn't get swept on their west coast road trip. They finally pulled out against the Coyotes and it was an all around complete game. Finally. Once again, Marchand stepped up and netted 2 ginos for the B's. The Bruins also finally broke their 0-19 power play drought. The Bruins were desperate for the win and they achieved it. Berkshire alumnus, Kevan Miller got his first goal in 363 days which was awesome. You don't expect him to score a lot but always love when he does.
